A UN expert has urged humanitarian systems to include lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and other gender-diverse people in emergency planning and response.
For LBQ women, conflict, displacement, disasters and shrinking services can intensify existing risks. Inclusive aid must account for safety, healthcare, shelter, documentation and protection from violence.
Our advocacy point: emergency responses should be designed with affected communities, not simply for them.
